Actual genetically modified animals
That weren't silly experiments like glowing animals

There has been a not so recent development of world hunger, especially in poorer countries and cities. As you might have seen in GMO's in crops, farmers and scientists have tried to solve this problem and this is yet another way of doing it. They have created salmon that grow much faster than the other salmon. They have added a growth hormone to the salmon embryos which make them grow much faster.

It might surprise you but when you think about it, it is really smart what scientist are doing to these little pests. If you haven't heard about it already, malaria is a disease spread by mainly mosquitos. Scientists have been able to change if these mosquitoes are immune or not to malaria. The mosquitos themselves do not get malaria but they carry the disease, kind of like the rats during the black plaque. They have changed few in laboratories but to get them out into the ecosystem would be challenging. They have gotten them to reproduce and have the offspring of this mosquitos to have the same type of change in them so they don't carry malaria but still very hard to get out into the ecosystem.
Experiments with gmos

Some genetically modified organisms are good others are kind of, silly. like glow in the dark mice, cats, and fish.

Less "farty" cows, If you have ever been around cows you've probably smelled a cow fart, they are normally silent, but they are extremely bad smelling. Scientists, kind of for fun, have tried to genetically modify cows to make them less farty.

Glow in the dark animals have been another experiment scientists have tried, They have successfully made glow in the dark, cats, mice, fish, and rabbits. They do this by inserting a virus containing a jellyfish gene for fluorescence into the embryo of the animal
Scientists have also somehow made it so goats produce milk that has spider silk in it. This is super useful because it's used in medicines and also materials. It would be hard to get enough spiders together to make that much silk and since goats are a lot bigger than spiders they can make a lot more silk.

Featherless chickens, or "naked" chickens, are meant to make it easier to process the meat. And instead of taking off all the feathers they can just process the meat immediately. They are also supposed to be kept around 68 degrees for the right growth and these chickens have to be held at about the same but a bit warmer. In poorer countries, this is a problem because they can't always afford to have air conditioning or heating during the colder months.
